Distribution and Power Transformers
Riber Italia offers distribution and power transformers manufactured by the MATELEC SAL Group.
The company, headquartered in Lebanon, which we represent, is the largest group in the Middle East. It has several production facilities and a factory in France to serve the French national utility EDF. Matelec has extensive production capacity and manufactures transformers up to 220kV and 125MVA.
Today, MATELEC operates in Italy with its own operational headquarters – MATELEC Italia Srl.

In 2016, RIBER was approached by MATELEC SAL to participate in a tender issued by the Spanish group ENEDESA—recently acquired by ENEL Group—for the supply of distribution transformers under a three-year framework agreement. Following successful bid participation and award, we collaborated with the Lebanese headquarters to develop a business model focused on serving the ENEL Group.
Several years later, ENEL management requested our entry into the Italian market with power transformers. Today, after successfully passing rigorous technical qualifications within the ENEL Group (TCA – Technical Conformity Assessment), we have become a key supplier for ENEL Green Power and e-distribuzione. This positions us strategically during substantial investments in energy sector infrastructure for Italy’s national grid modernization.
